During the 2 year OAME Grade 9 Applied Project much attention was paid to the use of rich tasks in the classroom. The participants shared many of the tasks that they used with their own students with each other. Some of these tasks have been compiled here.

In this problem students are asked:

  1. If you wanted to eat enough Mini-Bears to match the Super-Bear, how many would it take? What if you ate Regular-Bears?
  2. Guess as close as you can for each. Write your guesses down.
  3. Give answers for each that you know are too high.
  4. Give answers for each that you know are too low.
